With regards to 4:4:4 chroma, even dropping down to 25Hz is no help, it’s clearly running in 4:2:2. I’ve had a further play and I can actually get an output at 60Hz after tweaking switchresx ( ) but the picture loses all sharpness similar to that seen at 30Hz. Regarding bpc, i’m using the “millions of colors” option in switchresx. If you have the beta version I linked above, then it should show all the high refresh rate options. The 2013 Mac Pro can drive 4K at 60 Hz, the 2013 rMBPs can drive 4K at 30 Hz (and they have a one year newer Intel graphics than your Mac Mini, assuming its a 2012 model). As it seems you have found, using SwitchResX or other 3rd party applications must be used on previous Mac systems in order to create a custom resolution to achieve 4K at 60Hz, however, in our experience some customers have better results than others. It is random which of the monitors will revert to 30 Hz. After a little bit, with the mac going to sleep, one of the two monitors will revert to 30 Hz and cannot be set back to 60 Hz. You can use 4K displays and Ultra HD TVs at the following resolutions and refresh rates via the built-in HDMI port of your Mac: 3840x2160 at 30 Hz refresh rate 4096x2160 at 24 Hz refresh rate (mirroring is not supported at this resolution) Per the specs of your TV, it supports 480i to 4K resolutions on HDMI. I reinstalled the Mac OS 10.13.3 over the existing installation I got back the normal screen and could choose '1080p HiDPI 60Hz' in SwitchResX Problem: Sleep mode got back the situation of black screen: Only rebooting was helping. ![]()
